The Ministry of Digital Transformation announced the launch of a new program to support operator stations with generators.

This was reported by the press service of the department.

The corresponding initiative is aimed at powering base stations so that during blackouts “Ukrainians can call an ambulance, receive emergency notifications, and contact their relatives.”

The Ministry of Digital Affairs explained that citizens who have a generator with a capacity of 7.2 kW or more will be able to join the program.

As a reward, generator owners will receive funds – approximately from 110 to 140 UAH per hour.

“For 12 hours of base station power supply, an individual will receive approximately UAH 1,320, a legal entity – about UAH 1,720,” the department noted.

To join the project, you need to call the free hotline at 0 800 33 63 28. Subsequently, the operator will select the nearest base station, explain the conditions, calculate the approximate payment amount, and forward the contacts to check technical capabilities and conclude an agreement.

Within the framework of the program, the owner will be responsible for maintaining and refueling the generator, and the operator will be responsible for the technical connection to the base station.

“This is a joint effort of the state, business, and citizens. Each connected generator is a real help for people to stay connected in critical moments,” the ministry’s press service summarized.

It was previously reported that Ukrainian telecommunications operators were installing generators, upgrading networks, and stocking up on batteries so that base stations could operate autonomously for up to three days.
