Co-chair of the European Solidarity faction Iryna Gerashchenko reported on social networks about the outrageous behavior of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Taras Kachka during a meeting of the specialized interdepartmental group on Ukraine’s accession to the EU . According to Gerashchenko, Kachka, instead of responding to the substance of the remarks of Ukraine’s European partners, broke out into shouting and outright rudeness.

“A meeting of the interdepartmental working group on ensuring the negotiation process on Ukraine’s accession to the EU has just taken place, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Taras Kachka, with a presentation of the national integration program. The government recorded ambitious plans there to fulfill all obligations by December 2027, so that Ukraine becomes a member of the EU in 2028,” the deputy notes.

“Taking the opportunity, I asked the Deputy Prime Minister about his reaction to the fact that Ukraine failed to implement the Ukraine Facility this year and received $4.2 billion less. The Deputy Prime Minister interrupted me angrily, advised me to “not read the TG, which you want to ban, by the way” (as I understand it, Bankova and the government are happy with anonymous TG-sweeps, only the opposition annoys them), and stated that all this is not true, Ukraine has not lost anything, but there is a risk of losing next year. It is surprising that the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration does not know that we are not talking about posts on social networks, but about an official report on Ukraine’s failure to fulfill its obligations,” states Iryna Gerashchenko.

“I tried to point out to Mr. Kaczka that I am well-versed in what the Verkhovna Rada does and does not do, in particular, at the last plenary session, due to the absence of “servants”, we did not adopt the draft law on housing policy. But in vain,” the faction co-chair writes.

“Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze and I tried to find out the government’s position on the “Fundamentals” cluster, how the authorities plan to implement the European Commission’s report on enlargement. To which the Deputy Prime Minister stated that these reports are of a recommendatory, not a legal, nature. And then something completely un-European began – he simply attacked me, shouting that he already knew that we would not like the government’s implementation report,” writes Gerashchenko.

“Well, the “Europeanness” of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration was seen by hundreds of those present. Now I am waiting for the official recording of the meeting so that everyone can see the rudeness of the government official. Without a doubt, this will be the subject of discussion of the conciliation council. My team and I expect a public apology from Kachka. The “Fundamentals” cluster includes respect for the opposition, the ability to answer uncomfortable questions, and unconditional implementation of European Commission reports and European Parliament resolutions, issues that have brought a profile government official to his knees. If even the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration is not aware of this, then what can we say about the entire government,” Gerashchenko notes.

“This CM should resign in full as discredited and unprofessional, for whom democracy and values are empty words. By the way, I started my question by thanking him for the presentation, inviting him to the faction, but as soon as it came to uncomfortable questions, “Kachka, who obediently listened to all the servants,” immediately interrupted me. I have seen a lot of rudeness from this parliament and government. But I will say frankly – I am shocked,” Iryna Gerashchenko summarizes.
