Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladyvlav Geraskevych went out to train on the Olympic track wearing a “memory helmet” with images of athletes who died during the war with Russia.

This was reported by “Public Sport”.

Geraskevych did this despite the ban of the International Olympic Committee, which allowed the dead to be honored in another way.

As a reminder, the International Olympic Committee has banned skeleton athlete Vladislav Geraskevych from competing at the Olympic Games in a helmet with the image of Ukrainian athletes who died as a result of the full-scale Russian invasion.

As is known, the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine has asked the International Olympic Committee to allow Vladyslav Geraskevych to compete at the 2026 Olympics in a special “memory helmet.”

The International Olympic Committee later suggested that the skeleton athlete use a black armband as a symbol of mourning.
