Germany has confirmed that it is preparing new deliveries of long-range missiles to Ukraine. Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that technical consultations with Kyiv have been ongoing for several months, and the process is “on the finish line,” and the Ukrainian army will be equipped with such weapons.

This is stated in the publication of Anadolu Ajansi.

Merz noted that Berlin is deliberately refraining from disclosing details about the quantity and timing of deliveries — such “strategic uncertainty” should prevent Russia from accurately assessing Ukraine’s capabilities.

In addition, according to him, support may include joint production of missile systems in Ukraine and Germany.

Merz also emphasized that Germany has lifted restrictions on the range of use of the transferred weapons — this will allow Ukraine to “fully defend itself, even against military targets outside its territory.”

This initiative comes against the backdrop of escalating Russian attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure, particularly energy facilities, ahead of the winter period.

As a reminder, Germany will allocate an additional €40 million to support Ukraine this winter due to damage to energy infrastructure as a result of Russian shelling.

As reported, the budget committee of the German Bundestag at its morning meeting on November 14 approved the draft budget for 2026 , which significantly increased the amount of support for Ukraine. The total amount of assistance reached 11.5 billion euros – a record package that includes weapons, equipment, and air defense systems.
