German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated that the country’s stockpiles of air defense missiles that it could transfer to Ukraine are almost exhausted.

ClashReport reports this.

Answering journalists’ questions about the shortage of air defense missiles in Ukraine, the minister noted: “Partly because we don’t have any more.”

According to him, the remaining missiles were manufactured in the United States. “Frankly speaking, everything that’s coming out of the production facilities now also goes directly to Ukraine. We provided everything we had,” he emphasized.

Wadeful also expressed the opinion that other European states could more actively join in strengthening Ukrainian air defense.

“This isn’t because of Germany. We provided everything we had. We finance the lion’s share of what Ukraine receives, and there are good reasons for that,” the German Foreign Minister added.

It was previously reported that on February 12, the UK announced the provision of additional multi-purpose missiles to Ukraine to strengthen its air defenses. This amounts to 1,000 units.

As a reminder, upon returning to Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the results of the Ukrainian delegation’s participation in international security talks . According to him, the partners agreed on new support packages, including the supply of air defense missiles against ballistic threats.
