Germany has simplified the exchange of driver’s licenses for Ukrainians: what you need to know

Germany has decided to recognize Ukrainian driver’s licenses without passing a theoretical and practical exam. Ukrainian has also been added to the list of languages in which you can take the theoretical exam for a driver’s license.
This was reported by the German Bundesrat.
The Bundesrat has amended the rules on driving licenses, including Ukraine and Montenegro on the list of countries whose driving licenses can be exchanged for German ones without undergoing additional testing.
In addition, the list of languages for taking the theoretical driving test in Germany has been expanded. Ukrainian and Kurmanji have been added to it.
The Bundesrat also decided that Germany will recognize third-country driving licenses that have already been exchanged in another European Union member state.
It was previously reported that in Germany, starting July 1, Ukrainian refugees, as well as the unemployed , will receive the so-called basic income (Grundsicherung) instead of social assistance for citizens (Bürgergeld).
