Germany is preparing hospitals for a possible war with Russia – media

Germany has begun preparing hospitals for a possible military conflict with Russia. The Bundeswehr has estimated that in the event of war, up to a thousand wounded soldiers could be brought to the country every day.

German authorities are currently testing whether hospitals will be able to cope with a large number of wounded in the event of a war between Russia and NATO.

Previously, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that Russia could be ready to attack NATO countries by 2029.

In this case, Germany will play an important role not only in military operations. Due to its location in the center of Europe, it can transport soldiers through its territory and transport the wounded to German hospitals.

The Bundeswehr estimates that in certain periods up to 1,000 wounded soldiers per day may be brought to Germany.

The country’s five military hospitals will not be able to cope with such a load. Therefore, civilian hospitals will also have to accept and treat the wounded.

However, Germany’s medical system is currently not ready for such a scenario.

This was directly stated by the chief medical director and commander of the military hospital in Ulm, Benedict Frimert.

The German authorities need not only to prepare additional hospital beds, but also to create stocks of necessary drugs and establish cooperation between military and civilian doctors.

Another problem is the dependence on imported components for the production of medicines. In particular, Germany purchases important substances from China that are used to produce antibiotics, painkillers and other drugs.
