Germany is set to negotiate with the United States on providing Ukraine with additional air defense systems and interceptor missiles.

This was reported in Bild.

According to Bild, Berlin is awaiting confirmation from U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on the delivery of two Patriot air defense systems Germany plans to buy for Ukraine.

After the U.S. announced a suspension of arms deliveries, the German government fears Washington may reject the request.

The matter was discussed at a government meeting on July 2, where it became clear the canceled U.S. supplies could not be replaced.

“Germany and other allies now want to provide Ukraine with at least some Patriot systems from reserves,” a government source told Bild.

As a reminder, the United States of America temporarily suspended the supply of some anti-aircraft missiles and precision ammunition to Ukraine due to concerns about the level of its defense reserves.

By the way, the US State Department assured that they did not stop all arms supplies to Ukraine, and the Pentagon’s decision made the day before was just one situation.
