In Germany, the Prime Minister of the federal state of Bavaria and leader of the Christian Social Union, Markus Söder, called for a review of social support for Ukrainian refugees. In particular, he proposed canceling the payment of so-called “civil assistance” – social support received in the country by the unemployed and low-income.

Tagesschau reports this.

In an interview with ZDF , Zeder said that no other country in the world treats refugees from Ukraine as generously as Germany. In his opinion, this may be one of the reasons why many Ukrainians have not yet found work, despite their high level of education.

According to official data from the Federal Employment Agency, as of May 2025, the employment rate among Ukrainian refugees in Germany was 34.9%.

Previously, German experts predicted that 10 years after the start of integration, the average employment rate among Ukrainians would reach approximately 55%. The Institute for the Study of the Labor Market and Professions explains this by the fact that most refugees from Ukraine are women with children who have limited opportunities for full-time employment.

Let us recall that from October 1, 2025 , the amount of monthly asylum fees for Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands will more than double.

As reported, the mayor of the Swiss city of Wigoltingen, Franco Burkhardt, criticized the behavior of some Ukrainian refugees, saying that some of them are disrespectful and do not seek to integrate into Swiss society.
