Bavarian Prime Minister and CSU leader Markus Söder said that the participation of Bundeswehr or NATO troops in a war against Russia is unrealistic.
The politician said this in an interview with the Rheinische Post.
In his opinion, the possibility of returning male refugees who are fit for service to Ukraine should be discussed.
“There will be no peace in the near future. Therefore, we should speak honestly about the return of Ukrainians who are capable of fighting, so that they can defend their own state,” Zoder emphasized.
Let us recall that the idea of sending European peacekeepers to Ukraine after a possible peace agreement with Russia is facing strong resistance among the public in EU countries.
As reported, during a long visit to China, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke in detail about the war in Ukraine, the negotiation process, and future contacts with Zelensky and Trump. He commented on the state of hostilities, assessed the work of the Ukrainian leadership and US special envoys, and also revealed Russia’s position on referendums and territorial issues.
