Germany will finance a strike weapon with a range of 1,200 kilometers for Ukraine

Germany has officially launched financing for the production of long-range drones for Ukraine. The contract provides for the supply of over 500 Antonov-196 aircraft.

These drones have already been used in attacks on Russian targets and have an impressive range of up to 1,200 kilometers, carrying warheads weighing about 50 kilograms.

It is expected that in the coming months Ukraine will be able to widely use these systems in combat operations. According to media reports, during the night strikes on Russian territory on the night of June 30-July 1, Antonov-196s could have been the main type of drones.

The German Ministry of Defense confirmed the funding, but did not provide detailed information about the volume and timing of deliveries. They emphasized that such assistance will allow the Ukrainian army to quickly provide weapons with which the military is already familiar and able to work effectively.

Recall that Germany plans to provide Ukraine with more than 100 million euros for the development and production of An-196 attack drones , which will be able to fly over a distance of more than 2,000 kilometers.

As reported, Sweden will finance the production of Ukrainian long-range drones based on the “Danish model.”
