Golovan called on the prosecutor’s office to review Poroshenko’s suspicions in the “coal case”

The lawyer of the fifth president Petro Poroshenko, Ihor Holovan, stated that the prosecutor’s office should reconsider his suspicion in the so-called “coal case.” According to the lawyer, the reason for this was the situation with the suspicion of NABU Director Semen Kryvonos.

The lawyer drew attention to the fact that simply signing a document of suspicion is not enough – it must be properly served on the person.

According to Golovan, after Ruslan Kravchenko was dismissed from the post of Prosecutor General, information about Kryvonos’s report of suspicion was removed from the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations. The lawyer believes that the prosecutor’s office should assess the situation with Poroshenko in the same way.

Golovan recalled that in 2021, the then Deputy Prosecutor General Oleksiy Symonenko signed the suspicion against Poroshenko. According to the lawyer, the document was not personally handed to the politician, but sent by mail.

The defense attorney also claims that the prosecutor’s office tried to confirm the serving of the indictment using a video briefing by Poroshenko’s lawyers, in which they commented on the document.

Golovan believes that if the prosecutor’s office found it inappropriate to hand over suspicion in the Kryvonos case, then it should apply the same approach to Poroshenko’s “coal case.”
