The government has adopted a resolution to launch a pilot project to provide medical and psychological services to veterans who have disorders due to the use of psychoactive substances, including alcohol.
This was reported by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
It is noted that the state will pay for comprehensive, professional, and affordable support necessary to restore health and return to a full life.
The project involves:
– access to multidisciplinary care – medical, psychological, psychiatric and social;
– creation and implementation of effective approaches to treatment and support with the subsequent formation of a unified system for providing such services;
– increasing awareness among family members of veterans about addiction disorders and ways to get support.
Support is provided in three stages:
Inpatient stage (30 days) – comprehensive medical and psychological support includes individual and group psychotherapy; work with a social worker; physical activity; information activities; pharmacological and nutritional support;
The outpatient phase (30 days) is individual and group psychotherapy once a week.
Long-term outpatient support (280 days) is group therapy once a week to consolidate results and prevent relapse.
Providers of medical and psychological support services can be institutions regardless of their form of ownership, as well as individual entrepreneurs who have the appropriate personnel and infrastructure potential.
The Ministry of Veterans Affairs will reimburse the provision of such services.
