I don’t think anyone needs to be told that the number one problem in Ukraine right now is the war. We are repelling an invasion by an external enemy, and this is about the very survival of Ukraine as a sovereign state.

War requires money. The simplest thing is that the salaries of the Armed Forces have not been increased since 2012. On the contrary, they have been reduced due to the reduction of bonuses. Low salaries in the Armed Forces of Ukraine are one of the reasons why mobilization is stalling, and experienced personnel are trying to leave the army.

In addition to the military’s salary, money is needed to purchase weapons. We see that Moscow is unable to break through the Ukrainian defense at the front and therefore is intensifying missile terror of Ukrainian cities. That is, more air defense systems are needed. More drones. More weapons.

Where to get money?

The European Solidarity Party found the money quickly. And here’s where.

First, it is unacceptable that 40 billion UAH were taken from the Ministry of Defense and are trying to transfer it to the Reserve Fund. The money should be spent on the army, not on the PR of Zelensky’s team, various checks, fakes, and e-banking.

Secondly, for the needs of the army, one can easily spend a billion UAH allocated for financing the monomarathon, 4 billion allocated for the government program “Tysyachovesna” (not yet), and 2 billion UAH from the State Fund for Regional Development, which a number of experts call a “food fund”. In total, 7 billion UAH is a little less than the Petro Poroshenko Foundation spent on the Armed Forces of Ukraine (8 billion). Look at how much the Poroshenko Foundation transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and imagine how 7 billion can be spent profitably.

If the government doesn’t know that, let it ask Poroshenko how and what to do.

Thirdly, funds from various currently irrelevant programs can be used to purchase weapons. For example, the government has 1.9 billion for the creation of feature films and TV series (which ones???) and 300 million for modern music (the budget pays for that too??)

Does the government present itself as patriots? Does the government prove to us how it cares about Ukraine? Then it is simply obliged to transfer all the listed funds to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Because there is nothing more important now than the defense of Ukraine.

Because, damn it, the refusal to transfer funds from non-priority areas to the Armed Forces stinks from a mile away, and this stench cannot be drowned out by any patriotic rhetoric.

Patriotism is proven by actions, not by pretty words. The government has a chance to prove its patriotism. Through action.

Earlier on the air of “Pryamoy”, economic and political expert Pavlo Rozenko reported that the government is directing the resources of the Reserve Fund to programs that are not related to force majeure, in particular , to pay “Zelensky’s thousand” and national cashback . Such actions are a violation of the law, since these initiatives should be financed through amendments to the state budget in parliament, he emphasized.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian government has prepared amendments to the State Budget for 2026 to strengthen the security and defense sector. Additional funding became possible after the approval of a €90 billion European Union loan for 2026-2027.

Instead, the Eurosolidarity faction is initiating a draft of amendments to the State Budget-26 and an alternative draft of an anti-corruption strategy. They emphasize the need to increase financial support for the military on the front line.
