The United Kingdom is allocating an additional £100 million to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses.
This is reported by the British government.
The funds will be used to strengthen air defense systems, protect forward units and critical infrastructure from Russian air attacks.
“The UK will urgently allocate an additional £100 million to support Ukraine’s air defence,” the statement said.
The British government notes that in total, over the past two months, the country has already allocated 600 million pounds to support Ukrainian air defense.
The new aid package was agreed upon after a meeting of the leaders of the Joint Expeditionary Force in Helsinki, where they discussed increasing support for Ukraine.
The decision was also made following President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s recent visit to London.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer stressed that the United Kingdom will continue to support Ukraine in defending its sovereignty.
As previously reported, the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine announced that the country’s government is allocating another 56 million euros to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
