The thirtieth meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the “Ramstein” format will take place on Tuesday, September 9. The meeting will be held online and will be opened by the defense ministers of the United Kingdom, Germany, and Ukraine.

This is reported by Radio Liberty .

It is noted that the anniversary meeting of Ukraine’s partners in the “Ramstein” format will begin at 5:15 p.m. Kyiv time. British Defense Minister John Healy, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, and Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal will deliver welcoming statements.

As is known, the Ramstein format brings together about 50 states that coordinate military assistance to Ukraine, ranging from the transfer of weapons and equipment to the training of the Ukrainian military and strengthening of defense infrastructure.

Unlike previous meetings, this time there is no plan to hold a press conference following the meeting. However, it is expected that Ukraine’s partners will adopt a number of decisions that will allow for strengthening air defense.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously emphasized that a key priority in cooperation with allies remains the protection of Ukrainian skies, in particular, providing the country with modern air defense systems that will help repel Russian missile and drone attacks.

It is worth adding that the previous meeting in July also took place online under the chairmanship of the United Kingdom and Germany.

As a reminder, the 29th meeting in the Ramstein format took place in July . During the meeting, a new US and NATO initiative on armaments was announced, including the transfer of Patriot systems, hundreds of thousands of shells, drones, and billions in support for the defense-industrial complex.

By the way, Belgium has announced a large-scale plan to help Ukraine: it will allocate 1 billion euros annually , provide F-16 fighters and help rebuild the country’s infrastructure. In addition, Brussels is ready to participate in a peacekeeping mission after the ceasefire, and will use frozen Russian assets to support Ukrainian schools, hospitals and the energy sector.

The day before, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced new military aid that will arrive in Ukraine next month.
