The United Kingdom supports US President Donald Trump’s efforts to peacefully resolve the war in Ukraine, but emphasizes that Kyiv should also be involved in the process.

“We will never trust President Putin as much as possible, but we will support Ukraine, President Trump and European countries as we enter these negotiations,” said a spokesman for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
As he noted, peace should not be imposed on Ukraine, it should be built together with it. At the same time, he said, the United Kingdom will not reward aggression or jeopardize sovereignty.
“Ukraine will decide its own future, and we will support it every step of the way,” the spokesman concluded.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump informed European leaders of his intention to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin , and later to organize a trilateral meeting with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
