The United Kingdom has expanded sanctions against Russia, adding 12 companies, one individual and six ships to the restrictive lists. The new measures target Russia’s financial, energy and industrial sectors.
This is stated on the website of the British Foreign Office.
The new sanctions package includes six Russian banks: Ozon Bank, Roseximbank, Center-Invest, Realist Bank, Stavr, and TelePort Bank.
The United Kingdom froze the assets of these financial institutions on its territory, prohibited British banks from maintaining correspondent relationships with them, and blocked any transactions through them.
The industrial enterprises Metalkomplekt, Nikom, Promsiz and Technolux were also sanctioned. According to the British government, these companies supplied goods and technologies to the Russian military-industrial complex.
In addition, the new restrictions apply to six sea vessels and a number of other legal entities and individuals whose activities, according to London, are related to supporting the Russian economy and military aggression.
As reported, a group of US senators announced that they had agreed with the Donald Trump administration on a bill on “hellish sanctions” against Russia.
As a reminder, the US Senate held a procedural vote on Tuesday, July 28, on a bill to tighten sanctions against Russia. The document, co-authored by Senator Lindsey Graham, may be put to a final vote as early as next week.
