The Verkhovna Rada supported a bill that exempts the supply of ground robotic complexes for the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine from VAT.
This was reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada Apparatus.
This is bill No. 15259, which deputies adopted on May 28.
“The adopted Law provides for the exemption from VAT of transactions for the supply of ground robotic complexes for the needs of the defense forces in the customs territory of Ukraine,” the Verkhovna Rada noted.
The parliament explained that the decision should help to more quickly provide the military with modern robotic systems and reduce costs during procurement for the army.
“The adopted changes will meet the needs of combat military units in providing them with ground robotic complexes, as well as ensure the efficiency of spending budget funds,” the report says.
The law applies to robotic platforms used by the military for logistics, evacuation, reconnaissance, and combat missions at the front.
The document was prepared by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy.
As a reminder, in the Lyman region, soldiers of the 60th separate mechanized Ingulets brigade evacuated an elderly woman using a ground robotic complex . The woman was taken out of the danger zone and handed over to representatives of the Central Emergency Response Force after an operation that lasted 4 hours.
As reported, the country plans to produce 25,000 ground combat robots by 2026 , which are already being used on the front lines to perform combat, logistical, and evacuation tasks. The Ukrainian military says that the use of such systems reduces risks to personnel.
