Minneapolis struck by tragedy: during prayers at a Catholic Church, a gunman opened fire on students and worshipers, killing two children aged 8 and 10 and injuring at least 17 others.

This is reported by Fox News.

The incident occurred on the morning of August 27 at around 8:30 a.m. local time, during a church service marking the beginning of the school year. According to law enforcement, the attacker planned the crime: he barricaded a side door to prevent people from escaping, then approached the building and began shooting through the windows.

The man was armed with multiple weapons, including a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol. The attack resulted in the deaths of two children and injuries to 17 others, including 14 children.

Eleven people were hospitalized in Minneapolis, including nine children aged 6 to 14 and two adults. Several of the injured are in critical condition, with four children requiring emergency surgery.

The attacker, initially estimated to be in his 20s, was found dead from a gunshot wound. Police believe he took his own life. A smoke bomb was also discovered at the scene. The motive for the attack has not yet been determined.

Law enforcement continues to investigate, while the Minneapolis community mourns the deaths of the children and the injuries sustained by dozens of students.

Recall that on June 10, a large-scale shooting occurred at a school in the city of Graz, Austria, resulting in the death of at least ten people and the injury of 28 others. The number of victims may increase.
