GUR attacked two large Russian landing ships in Crimea: consequences of the operation

On the night of April 18-19, the “Primary” special unit of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s GUR launched strikes on Russian military facilities in temporarily occupied Crimea. As a result of the operation, two large landing ships were disabled and a radar station was destroyed.
This was reported by the press service of the GUR.
According to intelligence, the large landing ships of Project 775 “Yamal” and Project 1171 “Nikolai Filchenkov”, which were located in the Sevastopol Bay, were hit. Both ships belong to the Russian Black Sea Fleet and were used in the war against Ukraine.
The Yamal is a 112.5-meter-long vessel built in 1988 and capable of carrying up to 500 tons of cargo, including armored vehicles and troops. The estimated cost of the ship is over $80 million.
Meanwhile, the “Nikolai Filchenkov” is a 1975-built ship with a capacity of up to 1,000 tons, which allows it to transport dozens of pieces of equipment and personnel. Its estimated cost exceeds $70 million.
As part of the same operation, Ukrainian intelligence officers destroyed the Podliet-K1 radar station, the cost of which is estimated at approximately $5 million.
As noted in the department, both ships were disabled as a result of the impact.
By the way, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted an operation in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, striking Russian military facilities. The attack damaged three ships , radar systems, and the enemy’s logistical infrastructure.
Recall that on the night of March 13-14, 2026, special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine struck two Russian military vessels. As a result of the operation, the railway ferry “Slavyanin” was disabled and the ship “Avangard” was damaged.
