GUR fighters ousted the occupiers from Stepnohirsk in Zaporizhia: what is known about the situation on the front

Soldiers of the special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine “Artan” continue the combat operation in Stepnohirsk in the Zaporizhia direction. As a result of the assault operations, key positions in the city have come under the control of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the GUR.

The department stated that the operation was carried out in coordination with related units. Ukrainian special forces carried out a series of offensive actions to expel the Russian occupiers from the city and stabilize the situation in the settlement.

During the assault, Russian troops attempted to attack Ukrainian military equipment with an FPV drone. The GUR reported that the drone was destroyed.

According to intelligence, during the fighting in urban conditions, Russian forces were knocked out of fortified positions.

“The assault actions were carried out in a coordinated manner, using aerial reconnaissance and pinpoint fire. Each house was checked for “surprises” and remnants of the occupant’s manpower. We do not rule out that the enemy will continue attempts to enter the city again, but we are ready for this,” said Viktor Torkotyuk, commander of the Artan special forces unit.

The GUR noted that combat operations in Stepnogirsk are ongoing.

By the way, in the southern direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces regained control over about 470 square kilometers of Ukrainian land and eliminated more than 11,000 Russian soldiers.

Earlier, fighters of the Airborne Assault Forces fully restored control over Berezov in the Oleksandrivka direction.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting an offensive in the south and have already liberated almost the entire Dnipropetrovsk region.
