GUR identified Russian military man suspected of sexual violence during occupation
Ukrainian law enforcement officers have identified a Russian serviceman who, during the occupation of one of the settlements in the Bashtansky district of the Mykolaiv region, committed sexual violence against a local resident.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to intelligence data, investigators of the National Police of Mykolaiv Oblast, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office and with the analytical support of the GUR, established that 26-year-old Russian serviceman Abdurashid Bakhmudov was involved in the crime.
The investigation established that at the end of October 2022, the occupier, using psychological pressure, committed sexual violence against a civilian woman.
The GUR reported that at that time, Bakhmudov served as the commander of a deep reconnaissance platoon of military unit No. 74814 within the 205th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 49th combined arms army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation. He had the rank of sergeant and the call sign “Abdula.”
Law enforcement officers also identified another serviceman from this unit. According to the investigation, the 42-year-old occupier illegally took possession of the victim’s husband’s car, and later, in November 2022, he also raped the woman.
Both Russian servicemen were reported on suspicion of ill-treatment of civilians and violations of the laws and customs of war.
The GUR emphasized that the war crimes of the Russian occupiers will not go unpunished, and everyone involved will be held accountable for what they did.
