Hackers obtained correspondence between a Russian official and Peskov, discussing Tokayev and Prigozhin.

The hacker group Black8Mirror announced the publication of the archive of Mikhail Babich, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia. The materials allegedly include correspondence with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

The Russian publication “Agency” writes about this.

At the same time, there is no independent confirmation of the authenticity of the released archive and correspondence.

In one of the published dialogues, the interlocutors discuss a speech by Kazakh President Kassim-Jomart Tokayev, who called for a freeze on the war against Ukraine and described its causes as unclear.

Babich allegedly asks a user identified as Dmitry Peskov who could have asked Tokayev to make the statement. In response, the user calls it “purely impromptu,” suggesting that “Ukrainians, Americans, or someone from the inside” could have been involved.

Another segment discusses Vladimir Putin’s appearance at Navy Day events in St. Petersburg on July 26. The traditional naval parade was cancelled for the second time in a row.

In the alleged correspondence, Babich criticizes the organization of the event and asks who decided to hold the ceremony in this format. A user named “Dmitry Peskov” replies that it’s “safer.”

The materials also contain a fragment of a conversation about Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of PIK Wagner. Babich’s interlocutor, allegedly Peskov, states that Prigozhin believes the situation in Russia is so bad that “something needs to be done.”

Black8Mirror has previously published materials it claims originate from the correspondence of Russian officials and other influential individuals. However, in previous leaks, independent verification of the archives’ authenticity was also problematic.
