Hail, showers and strong winds: forecasters warn of dangerous weather

After a sunny and calm weekend, the weather in Ukraine is changing dramatically. In the coming days, some regions will be hit by thunderstorms, showers, hail, and gusty winds, and the air temperature will drop by several degrees.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
Forecasters explain that the changes will be caused by an atmospheric front that is entering Ukraine from the west and will gradually move east. It will bring unstable weather and precipitation to most regions.
On Tuesday, August 18 , thunderstorms are expected almost throughout the country, except for the eastern and southeastern regions. In the western regions, significant precipitation is forecast in places. Hail and wind gusts up to 15-20 m/s are also possible.
Rain and thunderstorms are forecast in most northern, central, and southern regions on August 19. During the day, the bad weather will shift to the east and southeast of the country.
On Thursday, August 20 , the rains will gradually subside. Short-term precipitation is possible only in places in the north, while dry weather will prevail in other regions.
Today, the air temperature will still remain summer-like: +28…+33 degrees, although it will be noticeably cooler in the west – from +20 to +25 degrees.
During August 19-20, nights will become cooler — from +10 to +18 degrees. During the day, +21…+28 degrees are expected in most regions. At the same time, the heat will linger longer in the south, and on Thursday the temperature there may rise again to +32 degrees.
Due to thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds, forecasters have declared a yellow warning level for August 18. The warning applies to the western regions, as well as parts of the northern and central regions.
