He coordinated missile strikes on the Kyiv region: SBU detained a special agent of the Russian military intelligence

Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained in Kyiv an agent of the Senezh special operations center of Russian military intelligence, better known as the GRU.

This was reported by the press center of the SBU.

It is noted that the attacker was directing Russian missile and drone attacks on the capital region. As the investigation established, the agent turned out to be a 44-year-old Kyiv resident. According to the SBU, he came into the field of view of the Russian GRU during a chat roulette broadcast, where he expressed a pro-Russian position.

“After recruitment, the suspect began to monitor the locations of local enterprises that, in his opinion, could be involved in the production of military equipment for the Defense Forces. To collect data, he asked acquaintances for the “necessary” information under the guise of everyday conversations, and then arrived at the addresses of potential targets for additional intelligence,” the SBU reported.

As it turned out, the traitor was simultaneously spying on the movement routes and combat positions of mobile fire groups during air raids. The enemy planned to use this information to prepare for shelling the capital region “bypassing” Ukrainian air defense, SBU investigators noted.

The security service documented the agent’s every step from the beginning of his intelligence activities and took comprehensive measures to secure Ukrainian enterprises.

It is reported that at the final stage of the special operation, SBU officers detained the suspect at his place of residence. Two phones with an agent “report” were found in his home, in which he included photos of Ukrainian objects with links to Google Maps, investigators noted.

Security Service investigators informed the agent of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The perpetrator is being held without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As a reminder, in the Rivne region, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who was preparing Russian missile strikes on airfields and logistics depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As reported, Russian special services, with the help of a teenage girl , planned to remotely detonate explosives in the central park of Ivano-Frankivsk.
