“He dedicated himself to serving Ukraine”: how deputies react to Parubiy’s death

The leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, people’s deputies, the Office and its employees expressed condolences in connection with the murder of Andriy Parubiy, a people’s deputy of several convocations and the Chairman of the Parliament of the 8th convocation.

The press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine notes that Andriy Parubiy dedicated himself to serving Ukraine, in particular, as an active participant in the national-democratic movement, commandant of the Maidan Self-Defense during the Revolution of Dignity, and also headed the National Security and Defense Council in 2014.

“He always remained a principled defender of the sovereignty and freedom of Ukraine. The bright memory of Andriy Parubiy — a patriot and statesman — will forever remain in the hearts of his colleagues and all who knew him,” the message says.

The death of the MP was also commented on by the European Solidarity party. Iryna Gerashchenko noted that he loved Ukraine most of all in his life, and after the start of the full-scale invasion, he did everything to help the Armed Forces.

“European Solidarity” demands from the authorities and law enforcement agencies an immediate, thorough, professional, transparent investigation into the murder of statesman, people’s deputy Andriy Parubiy. We link this murder to his statist pro-Ukrainian position and believe that our eternal enemy and terrorist – the Russian Federation and its 5th column – may be behind this cruel crime. Moscow sincerely hated Parubiy as one of the state builders of modern Ukraine,” Gerashchenko noted.

In turn, Viktoriya Siumar added : Andriy Parubiy was a symbol of the Maidan and all those Ukrainian values that were always mocked by enemies.

According to her, Parubiy was “a desperado who was the only one who dared to take serious steps” to thwart the Kharkiv agreements.

“Last week, we talked for an hour about the future… and that this war finally established the nation… But the enemy cannot accept this. The murder of Andriy is revenge for the fact that Ukraine stood up and took place. He was an enemy of Moscow. Moscow knew this well,” the deputy emphasized.

Let us recall that on August 30 , public and political figure Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv .

Later, it became known that the Lviv region is searching for the shooter who killed the current deputy from the “European Solidarity” party and former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy . A photo of the alleged killer is being published on the Internet.

Later, journalists reported that MP Andriy Parubiy was shot 8 times by a man disguised as a courier.

The fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, reacted to Parubiy’s murder by calling it “a shot in the heart.”
