A court in Kyiv found a 43-year-old man guilty of illegal acquisition, possession for the purpose of sale, and sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison with confiscation of property.

This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors from the Shevchenko District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv proved in court the guilt of a 43-year-old man in the illegal acquisition, storage for the purpose of sale, and sale of large quantities of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

According to the investigation, the man organized the sale of cocaine, which he packed in plastic zip-lock bags and packed in gift bags with soap. He sent such packages to the recipients using a taxi service.

During the arrest, law enforcement officers discovered and seized cocaine and amphetamine from his home.

In court, the prosecutor proved that the accused purchased narcotics and psychotropic substances specifically for further sale, since the seized packages already had specific recipients, which was confirmed by the relevant records.

The court sentenced him to 6 years in prison with confiscation of property. The convict is currently in custody. The pre-trial investigation into the case was conducted by investigators from the Shevchenko Police Department of the Main Police Department in Kyiv.

We will remind that in Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a 44-year-old man who handed methadone pills to the accused during a court hearing in the Darnytskyi District Court. The suspect was informed of suspicion under the article on illegal sale of narcotic drugs, which carries a penalty of up to 8 years in prison.
