Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for making “unacceptable” negotiating proposals by suggesting a meeting in Moscow.
He said this in an interview with ABC News.
According to Zelenskyy, it is impossible to conduct a dialogue “in the capital of a terrorist” while Russia shells Ukraine every day.
“He can come to Kyiv. I cannot go to the capital of this terrorist,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
The day before, during a long visit to China, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke in detail about the war in Ukraine, the negotiation process, and future contacts with Zelenskyy and Trump.
Earlier, it was reported that US President Donald Trump is not sure whether a bilateral meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin at the leaders’ level will take place.
Recall that Trump said that in the next two weeks, it will become clear whether it is possible to achieve peace in Ukraine. If this does not happen, he warned about the likelihood of finding a different approach to resolving the war.
By the way, Donald Trump wants Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin to first hold a personal meeting. Only after that is he ready to join the trilateral format of negotiations.
