Border guards denied entry to Ukraine to an Italian man who wanted to cross the border while publicly expressing pro-Russian views and justifying Russia’s armed aggression.
This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko in a comment to “Suspilny”.
Earlier, on the social network Threads, user Darya Melnychenko described a situation that arose during the trip from Italy to Ukraine.
As the girl spoke in Italian, a man approached her and asked her many different questions. During the conversation, he began to criticize Ukraine and the president, praising Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
When the girl pointed out that with such an attitude one should not go to Ukraine, the man said that his wife’s house was supposedly there.
Darya wrote on social media that she would warn border guards at the Ukrainian border about the Italian’s pro-Russian views.
“I believe that such people have no right to cross the border of our country,” the post says.
According to the user, the Italian Rocco and the woman who was traveling with him were taken for questioning. At the border, they took pictures of the man’s and Daria’s documents and promised that they would not let him into Ukraine.
Border guards confirmed the Italian’s pro-Russian views and banned him from entering Ukraine for 3 years.
