He was preparing missile strikes on military airfields: SBU in Rivne region detained a Russian agent

In the Rivne region, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who was preparing Russian missile strikes on airfields and logistics depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

According to the case materials, the Russians’ accomplice turned out to be a 24-year-old local unemployed man who was looking for “easy” money in Telegram channels. He was recruited on the social network by an FSB officer.

The suspect was given a task by the Russian special services — to search for military facilities, conduct additional reconnaissance “on the ground,” and transmit coordinates. To accomplish this, he installed a hidden camera in his car, then drove around the area and recorded the locations of the Defense Forces on video.

The SBU exposed a Russian agent while filming the outer perimeter of a military facility. The suspect’s phone, hidden surveillance camera, and other evidence of collaboration with the enemy were seized.

In addition, the Security Service took measures to secure the locations of Ukrainian troops.

The detainee was informed of suspicion of committing treason under martial law. He is currently in custody. The man faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine detained two Russian agents who were collecting information about the SOU and carrying out strikes on air defense in the Dnipro.

By the way, in the Zhytomyr region, counterintelligence of the Security Service detained a Russian agent who was spying on aviation . He turned out to be a 41-year-old local unemployed man who was recruited by the Russian special services.
