Heating season under threat: Russia attacks energy facilities in six regions

On the night of August 27, the Russians attacked power and gas infrastructure facilities in six regions of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.
“On the night of August 26-27, the enemy carried out another massive terrorist attack using unmanned aerial vehicles on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine,” the report says.
The enemy carried out targeted attacks on energy and gas transportation system facilities in Sumy, Poltava, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia regions.
“As a result of a UAV strike, equipment at one of the key substations in Sumy was damaged, resulting in a significant part of the city and industrial consumers being left without power supply,” the ministry noted.
It is known that in the Poltava region, the enemy attacked a gas transportation infrastructure facility, causing significant damage.
Energy and gas workers are making efforts to restore energy and gas supplies as soon as possible. The extent of the damage is still being assessed.
The Ministry of Energy called this massive attack a continuation of Russia’s deliberate policy of destroying Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure on the eve of the heating season.
It was previously reported that damage to infrastructure facilities, power and water supply disruptions were recorded in Sumy due to the Russian strike .
As reported,Russian occupiers in the Dnipro district of Kherson attacked a civilian with a drone , as a result of which he was injured.
