“Hellish sanctions” against Russia: Trump signs Graham Act

US President Donald Trump has signed into law sanctions against Russia and Iran, initiated by the late Senator Lindsey Graham. The document also allows for tariffs of up to 100% on countries that buy Russian oil and gas.

“HR 5334, the Lindsey Graham Russia and Iran Sanctions Act of 2026, authorizes and expands statutory sanctions, tariffs, and prohibitions on Russia, and extends existing sanctions on Iran,” the statement said.
It is noted that Trump signed the sanctions document on Friday, September 18, which is on the night of Saturday, November 19, according to Kyiv. So the law has already come into force.
The law provides for sanctions against Russia and Iran, and also gives the US president the authority to impose tariffs of up to 100% on countries that buy Russian oil and gas.
As you know, on the night of September 17, Kyiv time, the US House of Representatives passed a bill on “hellish” sanctions against Russia . Now it must be signed by US President Donald Trump.

At the same time, the Ukrainian President’s Commissioner for Sanctions Policy , Vladyslav Vlasyuk, named the countries that could be subject to tariffs after the US President signs the “Graham Act.” These include possible duties of up to 100% on imports from countries that purchase significant amounts of Russian energy or help circumvent sanctions.
