Hero of Ukraine Yevhen Lasiychuk headed the 7th Corps of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian SSR

Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Yevhen Lasiychuk led the 7th Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces, which included five units of the Airborne Forces.
This was reported by the Command of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian SSR.
Before his appointment, Colonel Lasiychuk commanded the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade. In February 2025, despite the enemy’s significant numerical superiority, the fighters of this brigade stopped the Russian advance in the Pokrovsky direction.
The 7th Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and under the command of Lasiychuk will include airborne military units from the southeastern region, namely:
- 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade;
- 79th Separate Airborne Assault Tavria Brigade;
- 81st Separate Airmobile Slobozhansk Brigade;
- 77th Separate Airmobile Naddnipryan Brigade;
- 78th Separate Airborne Assault Regiment.
“A paratrooper is a symbol of heroism, bravery, and courage. Today, the paratroopers must operate in accordance with the new conditions of war, which is becoming increasingly technological. The use of automated combat systems, IT solutions, as well as drones as separate combat units is part of the daily work of brigades at the front,” said Colonel Lasiychuk, commenting on his appointment.
He also spoke about the tasks he sets for himself in his new position. Lasiychuk plans to build a structure for the latest technologies. High-quality planning of operations, training of personnel. He also plans to create his own workshops and centers for developing new solutions.
It should be noted that Colonel Yevhen Lasiychuk was awarded the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, II and III degrees. In 2024, he received the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the Gold Star for personal courage and heroism.
