High-profile resignation in the Air Force: Deputy Commander makes a sharp statement

Deputy Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Pavlo Yelizarov has submitted a report on his resignation. He explained his decision by the possible resignation of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and stated the risk of curtailing reforms in the field of air defense.

The military officer reported this on his Facebook page.

In the text of the report, Elizarov noted that the dismissal of Fedorov and the blocking of air defense reforms could have serious consequences for Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

“The dismissal of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov and the blocking of reforms in the field of air defense will lead to numerous casualties among the population and the destruction of critical infrastructure as a result of Russian strikes,” the document states.

At the same time, Elizarov emphasized that he was not leaving military service.

“In the 22nd year, I joined the Defense Forces to win, not to engage in imitation activities. I believe in the future of Ukraine!” he wrote.

The military man also called the possible resignation of Mikhail Fedorov “a great evil for the country’s defense capability.”

As a reminder, the Servant of the People faction announced who they plan to re-appoint to the new Cabinet of Ministers, which, according to preliminary data, may be headed by Serhiy Koretsky. Meanwhile , Mykhailo Fedorov confirmed that he is leaving the post of Minister of Defense and summed up the results of his work.

As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave several reasons why he did not support the possible appointment of Mykhailo Fedorov to the position of Minister of Defense .
