In the Peruvian town of Cerropalca, Hitler Mussolini Simeon Flores won the mayoral election. The candidate from the center-left Ahora Nación party received 34.54% of the vote, despite his unusual name, which coincides with the names of two 20th- century dictators.

The name Hitler has also been used by politicians in other countries. In November 2025 , Namibian politician Adolf Hitler Uunona won his fifth consecutive local election . He later announced that he had removed the name “ Hitler” from his identity card and wanted to be called Adolf Uunona .

Previously, explaining the origin of his name, Uunona said that as a child he didn’t see anything unusual about it .

“When I was a child, I perceived it as a completely normal name,” he said in an interview with German publication Bild in 2020 .

At the time, the politician also emphasized that he had no connection with Nazi ideology.
