Honcharenko expelled from Eurosolidarity: official statement

The European Solidarity faction has decided to terminate political cooperation with People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko due to ideological differences.

This is stated in the statement of “European Solidarity”.

The party explained that Honcharenko’s public positions on the end of the war and Ukraine’s future security system diverged from the position of the “EU” and its ideological principles.

European Solidarity considered a strong Ukrainian army, the Ukrainian language, an independent Ukrainian church, as well as Ukraine’s membership in the European Union and NATO to be issues of principle for them.

“That is why the European Solidarity faction has decided that we cannot now continue our common political path due to ideological differences,” the statement said.

The party noted that the decision does not invalidate previous years of joint work with Honcharenko.

The EU also stated the need for a public discussion on the end of the war, the terms of the ceasefire, and future security guarantees for Ukraine.
