“Hot on the trail”: SBU and police detained the alleged perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Brovary

The Security Service, together with the National Police, detained two people “on hot pursuit” who are suspected of involvement in a terrorist act in Brovary, Kyiv region.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

As it turned out, the perpetrators of the terrorist attack placed explosives near the fence and activated them with a phone call. To record everything, the attackers left a mobile phone nearby.

Within a few hours, law enforcement officers managed to detain the alleged perpetrators. They turned out to be a 23-year-old resident of Brovary and his 17-year-old accomplice from Chernivtsi region.

Law enforcement officers detained the second suspect in Vinnytsia Oblast. He was planning to leave Ukraine via Mogilev-Podilskyi.

During the searches, phones, SIM cards of mobile operators, electric matches, and clothing were seized from the detainees.

“According to available information, the defendants acted on the orders of the special services of the aggressor country. The curator from the Russian Federation promised them a monetary reward for this,” the SBU said.

Currently, investigators of the Security Service are studying the circumstances of the crime within the framework of Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – the commission of a terrorist act.

“The Security Service of Ukraine calls on citizens to be vigilant. If you are approached with dubious offers, you have seen suspicious objects and persons, or you have received information about the activities of Russian special services, pages on the Internet and social networks that they use for recruitment, report this to the SBU,” the press service urged.

As a reminder, on Monday, April 13, an explosion occurred in the private sector in Brovary, Kyiv region . According to the SBU, a 36-year-old man was injured as a result, he suffered minor injuries.
