Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Vereshchuk stated that Ukraine should prepare a social support system for refugees who plan to return from abroad.
She announced this following a meeting with Ukrainians in Warsaw.
“It’s not easy for them here. It’s especially difficult for the elderly, people with disabilities, single mothers with young children, and other vulnerable categories of our citizens,” the official emphasized.
She added that we cannot ignore the increasing demands of the Polish authorities for Ukrainians. Therefore, we should be prepared for their return to Ukraine.
In particular, it is necessary to provide temporary housing, humanitarian, medical and social support, as well as prepare organizational and logistical assistance.
“We will soon submit this issue for discussion by the Platform on Issues of Ukrainians Abroad with the participation of relevant authorities, public and international organizations, and Polish partners,” Vereshchuk assured.
We remind you that next year the Cabinet of Ministers plans to allocate 150 million hryvnias for the return of Ukrainians from abroad.
It was previously reported that Ukraine is experiencing an active movement of youth from a number of regions : the dynamics are particularly noticeable in the western part of the country.
