How many soldiers has the Russian Federation lost since the beginning of 2026: data from the General Staff
The losses of the Russian army since the beginning of 2026 have exceeded 300 thousand servicemen. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there are 301,030 Russian soldiers killed and wounded.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The General Staff noted that this number of losses is comparable to the personnel of almost 150 motorized rifle regiments , if the nominal size of one regiment is about two thousand soldiers.
The Russian army suffered the greatest losses in 2026 during the three summer months – a total of 124,170 servicemen .
In particular, the Russian Federation’s losses were:

- in June – 39,290 people ;

- in July – 42,860 people ;

- in August – 42,020 people .
In September, as of early September 15, the Russian army lost another 20,360 servicemen .
“Significant enemy losses are the result of effective combat work of all components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the General Staff emphasized.
Recall, earlier “Pryamiy” wrote that in July the losses of the Russian army reached 42,860 soldiers , which was one of the largest monthly figures since the beginning of the full-scale war.
