How will the power outages on New Year’s Eve work: expert’s forecast

On the night of December 31 to January 1, the usual hourly power outage schedules will most likely apply, and the possibility of easing will depend on several factors.

This was stated by the head of the State Energy Supervision Agency, Anatoliy Zamulko, during a telethon, RBC-Ukraine reports .

He said that the energy situation in Ukraine remains vulnerable due to potential Russian attacks and cold weather.

“If, with the temperature dropping and with the available capacities, we reach our usual schedules and they are predicted and correctly applied, this will be the most acceptable option,” Zamulko noted.

At the same time, he said, there is always a decrease in electricity consumption on New Year’s Eve. This will allow for an increase in the volume of light supply for a certain period.

However, everything will depend on the actions of the Russian occupiers in the coming days.

“We don’t know how the enemy will act from Wednesday to Thursday. And if we come to the usual predicted schedules of restrictions, this will probably be quite the right question and the right decision for today,” the head of the State Energy Supervision Agency summed up.

Earlier, Ukrenergo stated that the situation with electricity supply in a number of regions in Ukraine remains difficult . The most problems are currently being recorded in the controlled part of the Donetsk region and in the frontline regions.

By the way, the day before yesterday , more than 200 settlements were left without electricity due to adverse weather conditions.
