The State Enterprise “Medical Procurement of Ukraine” has signed a contract to purchase a 9-valent vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV).

This is reported by the Ministry of Health.

Ukraine to Launch Free HPV Vaccination for Girls Aged 12–13 Starting in 2026.

The state enterprise Medical Procurement of Ukraine has signed a contract to purchase a 9-valent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.

Starting in 2026, HPV vaccination will become part of Ukraine’s National Immunization Calendar. It will be free of charge and available to girls aged 12–13.

The Ministry of Health emphasizes that this decision marks a major step toward strengthening Ukraine’s public health system. The country is gradually aligning its immunization policies with global recommendations. The primary goal is to reduce the incidence of cancers, particularly cervical cancer, which is most commonly caused by high-risk HPV strains.

According to the World Health Organization, HPV types 16 and 18 are responsible for up to 70% of cervical cancer cases. The newly purchased 9-valent vaccine offers protection against nine HPV strains, including seven with high oncogenic potential.

The Ministry notes that the vaccine is most effective when administered before the onset of sexual activity — that is, before any possible exposure to the virus.

To date, 75 countries offer free HPV vaccination for adolescents, and a total of 149 countries have included it in their national immunization programs.

Ukraine expects to receive the first vaccine shipments by the end of 2025. The purchase was made under a Managed Entry Agreement, which allows the state to acquire the vaccine directly from the manufacturer at a reduced price.
Recall that the final phase of clinical trials of an HIV vaccine has been completed in the United States, which has demonstrated extraordinary effectiveness, 99%.

As reported, the US has officially approved the Yeztugo injection, which could be a breakthrough in the fight and prevention of HIV.
