In Hungary, after the polls closed, the first results of the parliamentary elections became known. According to the estimates, the opposition party “Tisa” of Peter Magyar is winning with more than two-thirds of the votes. The current Prime Minister Viktor Orban has already admitted his defeat.

As of 10:45 p.m., the Central Election Commission of Hungary had counted 72.44% of the votes cast.

According to the CEC, with over 70% of the vote, the Tisza party receives 138 seats in parliament, while Viktor Orban’s Fidesz receives 54 seats.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Tisza party, Peter Magyar, said that current Prime Minister Viktor Orban congratulated him on his victory. “Prime Minister Viktor Orban congratulated us on our victory by phone,” he wrote.

As a reminder, on Sunday, April 12, Hungary held parliamentary elections that will determine the fate of the government that governs the country. This could be a turning point, because after 16 years in power, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban could lose it, losing to opposition leader Peter Magyar.
