Hungary has announced its readiness to organize negotiations between Ukraine and Russia

Hungary has already twice proposed peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, and this proposal remains valid, said the country’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

“If we are needed, we are ready to provide proper, fair and safe conditions for peace talks. We will be glad if we can contribute to the success of peace efforts,” the diplomat emphasized.

At the same time, he denied information that US President Donald Trump allegedly called Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to discuss Ukraine’s accession to the EU after a meeting with the Ukrainian president and European leaders.

I want to make it clear: there was no such call. There was none. Period,” Szijjártó said.

Earlier it was reported that a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin could take place in the coming weeks . According to European diplomatic sources, Hungary is being considered as a potential venue for the talks.

Let us recall that multilateral talks involving US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and leaders of key European countries have concluded in Washington. The central topic of discussions was the prospect of ending the war in Ukraine and launching a new peace process initiated by Washington.
