Hungary has agreed to the European Union’s plan to stop exporting Russian liquefied natural gas.
This was reported by the EUObserver publication.
As noted, the relevant restrictions are part of the new, 19th package of EU sanctions against Russia.
Instead, Austria and Slovakia are blocking the progress of sanctions and opposing the next round of discussions.
Trump previously stated that he was ready to impose “serious sanctions” against Russia , but would do so only if NATO member countries refused to buy Russian raw materials.
As a reminder, the European Union seeks to abandon the purchase of Russian liquefied natural gas earlier than planned within the framework of the 19th package of sanctions against Russia.
As is known, the European Union has developed a plan to gradually phase out oil and gas exports from Russia by January 2028.
