The Hungarian authorities are ready to hand over two confiscated cars from Oschadbank to Ukraine, however, they do not plan to return the funds and gold.
This was reported by “European Truth”.
Employees of the National Tax and Customs Service, which is allegedly conducting the investigation, informed the lawyers of plans to return the cars to the Ukrainian bank on Thursday morning.
At the same time, Oschadbank’s assets — almost 80 million euros and 9 gold bars of one kilogram each — will remain confiscated in Hungary.
It is worth noting that Hungary is acting within the framework of a law hastily passed earlier this week. The documents mentioned the seizure of valuables, but there was no mention of cars.
As a reminder, the Hungarian authorities in Budapest detained seven Ukrainian citizens – employees of Oschadbank – and seized the money they were transporting. At the same time, Orban visited the anti-terrorist center on the day the collection cars were seized. Later that day, security officers from this unit seized a car with currency and gold.
Subsequently, seven Oschadbank collectors, who had previously been detained in Hungary, were deported from the country and returned to Ukraine .
Meanwhile, the National Bank of Ukraine is working to return the cargo from the collection vehicles that were detained by Hungarian authorities. The regulator called the incident a provocation without legal grounds.
It is known that the Hungarian government supported the proposal of the leader of one of the factions and adopted a resolution to seize money and valuables from Oschadbank.
