US President Donald Trump has allowed Hungary to export oil and gas from Russia, making an exception to sanctions.
This was reported by the Telex publication.
According to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, his country will have the lowest energy prices, as the Turkish Stream and Druzhba pipelines have been granted immunity from sanctions.
He added that this is a general and permanent decision.
“We agreed, the president (US Donald Trump – ed.) decided and said that sanctions will not be applied to the two pipelines,” the prime minister noted.
Recall that the Donald Trump administration announced the first major package of financial restrictions aimed at the Russian economy . This move became part of Washington’s new strategy, the aim of which is to force the Kremlin to end the war against Ukraine.
It later became known that US President Donald Trump and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban were planning to meet to discuss new restrictions against Russian oil companies.
It is known that the only oil refinery in Hungary is ready to abandon Russian oil and increase the share of raw materials from other countries.
