The distribution of footage of air defense operations and enemy drone hits on social media has become a serious security threat. Such activity helps the Russian occupiers adjust their fire.
President of the Ukrainian Aviation Association of Pilots and Aircraft Owners “AOPA Ukraine” Gennady Khazan stated on the air of “Pryamoy” that the authors of Telegram channels often neglect security for the sake of views.
“There is an almost complete lack of oil in the heads of certain individuals, Ukrainians, who, in the pursuit of making their channel the best in the world, even in Ukraine, are ready to provide any information, including that which is definitely used by the Russians,” the guest of the program emphasized.
According to him, the desire to monetize content is pushing people to publish unretouched videos where infrastructure objects are clearly visible. In addition to the hit sites, footage of the movement of military equipment and new weapons models is also being posted online.
Khazan called on law enforcement agencies, in particular the Security Service of Ukraine, to respond more actively to such cases, because the price of such hype is the lives and health of compatriots. He recalled that the occupiers use any verified data from open sources to plan future attacks.
As a reminder, Ukrainian legislation clearly prohibits the dissemination of information, the disclosure of which may lead to the enemy’s knowledge of critical infrastructure facilities. In the event of dissemination of data that may harm the national security of Ukraine, criminal/administrative liability is provided.
