Co-owner of the Kvartal-95 studio Timur Mindich commented on the NABU investigation and stated his position on the charges. He also spoke about his friendship with President Volodymyr Zelensky and his willingness to come to Ukraine.
He said this in a conversation with People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.
Mindich stated that he supports the actions of the anti-corruption body and does not object to the inspections.
“My position is this: I am definitely in favor of what NABU is doing. There is a question, I am a friend of the president, this is my only sin today. There is increased interest in me. I am not against checking some facts. But I am definitely against any accusations in court,” Mindich said.
According to him, he wants the investigation to take all necessary actions and make a decision without political or media pressure.
“I’m not in this story. … I want the investigation to sort it out and make its findings, and not have this whole media story to put pressure on, so that there is no political story. I’m not a politician, I’m an ordinary businessman,” he added.
Separately, Mindich spoke about President Volodymyr Zelensky, noting that he considers him his friend.
“I am lucky in life, I have such a wonderful friend as a person. I consider this person a patriot of the country, who sincerely does everything he can to the last drop of blood. I respect this person as a leader, as a person, and as a friend,” he said.
At the same time, Mindich noted that after Zelensky’s election as president, they have not been in close contact. He also stated his readiness to come to Ukraine and receive suspicion, provided that, in his words, “an honest pledge” is determined.
“I would come to Ukraine today, I would be suspected and even go to prison if there was a fair bail. I just understand that they will now set such a bail that I will not be able to collect it,” Mindich explained.
Mindić also said that he does not know whether he has been stripped of his citizenship and does not understand the reasons for the sanctions against him. According to him, he is allegedly not allowed to participate in the online session of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
Commenting on the information about $100 million in the “Midas” case, Mindich called it a “media label.”
“The case involves UAH 300 million,” he noted.
As previously reported, NABU and SAPO sent documents for Interpol to put businessmen Timur Mindich and Oleksandr Zukerman, defendants in the “Midas” case regarding corruption in the energy sector, on the wanted list .
We will remind you that only 19% of Ukrainians surveyed believe that President Volodymyr Zelensky was unaware of corruption in his environment and was not involved in the “Mindich scheme.”
