IAEA records over 160 drones near Ukrainian nuclear power plants in two days

The International Atomic Energy Agency has recorded a sharp increase in drone activity near Ukrainian nuclear power plants. Over 160 drones were spotted near three facilities on May 13-14 alone.
This is stated in the IAEA post in X.
In particular, drones were recorded near the South Ukrainian, Rivne, and Chernobyl nuclear power plants.
The IAEA noted that no direct impact on the nuclear safety of these facilities has been recorded so far.
However, the agency’s director general, Rafael Grossi, expressed deep concern about such military activity near nuclear plants.
He emphasized the need for full compliance with the seven key principles of ensuring nuclear safety and security in times of war.
Grossi also called for maximum restraint to avoid the risk of a nuclear accident.
The IAEA emphasized that any military activity near nuclear facilities poses a serious security threat not only to Ukraine, but also to the entire region.
As a reminder, on the night of Thursday, May 14, Russian occupation forces carried out a massive combined attack on Kyiv. The enemy struck the capital with drones and missiles, explosions were heard in several areas, fires and destruction occurred . One person was killed and at least 16 injured.
As reported, as a result of the massive Russian attack on Kyiv, the number of injured people has increased to 40 people, including two children . Some of the wounded were hospitalized in the capital’s hospitals.
